The Tax Collector's Office is responsible for collecting all the property taxes as assessed by the Tax Assessor. Although, the Borough has no role in establishing school taxes, county taxes, or fire district taxes, we are mandated by the state to collect them from the residents and remit 100 percent of the money to those other agencies despite the fact that we may collect from 98 percent of the taxpayers.
